Privacy policy and terms of service

Effective from 19 October 2026

Bytopie is an in-browser apartment planner at bytopie.cz. It is operated by Petr Pricl as a private individual (“we”). For anything about your data or these terms, write to [email protected].

Privacy policy

What data we store

• Account: when you sign in with Google or Facebook we store your e-mail, name, account identifier and a link to your profile picture (not the picture itself), plus the app language and sign-in time. Your name and picture are shown only to you in the account menu. We never see your password.
• Your projects: floor plans, furnishing variants, uploaded material (drawings, tile photos), your own furniture and settings. They belong to you and only you and the people you invite by e-mail can see them.
• Invitations: the e-mail of the person you invite to a project and their role (view or edit).
• Shared links: when you create a link, a snapshot of the variant and a preview image are stored. Anyone who knows the link can view it until you delete it.
• Furniture in the library: a piece you publish can be seen and used by every user. Your name is not shown with it.
• AI: the prompt, description and photo from which the AI should build furniture or read a drawing are sent to the chosen model. For paid models we record the cost of each request for the AI credit limit.
• Server logs: the server records the IP address, time and page address for operation and security. We keep them for at most 14 days.

We use no advertising or analytics tools and do not track anyone across websites. Your browser only stores app settings and your sign-in (localStorage), with no advertising cookies.

Why and on what legal basis

• to provide the service — account, saving projects, sharing and AI (performance of a contract, i.e. these terms),
• to protect the service against abuse and spam — server logs, limits and account blocking (legitimate interest).

We do not sell data and do not use it for advertising or marketing.

Who we share data with

• Hosting: the data is stored on our server in the European Union.
• Cloudflare: the site runs through it (HTTPS, protection against attacks), so it sees the IP address and traffic.
• Google and Meta (Facebook): only for the sign-in you choose. The web fonts of the home page load from Google Fonts.
• OpenStreetMap: the map under the floor plan and the address search load from their servers, which see the IP address and the searched text.
• OpenRouter: only when you choose a paid AI model; it passes the prompt and photo to the model provider, which may be outside the EU. The free AI runs on our own computer.

Transfers outside the EU (Cloudflare, Google, Meta, OpenRouter) rely on standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long

Account and projects until you delete the account. Shared links until you delete them or your account. After an account is deleted we keep only a fingerprint of the e-mail (an irreversible hash, not the address itself) for 7 days so the same account cannot be recreated right away; for an account blocked for abuse, permanently.

How to delete your account and data

1. Sign in at bytopie.cz/app.
2. Open the account menu at the top right and choose Delete account…
3. Confirm. All your projects including uploaded files, shared links and the account are deleted; this also applies to accounts signed in with Facebook.

If you cannot sign in, write to [email protected] from the account’s e-mail and we will delete it within 30 days. You can also remove Bytopie’s access in your Google or Facebook account settings.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict processing, to object and to data portability — we will e-mail you an export of your projects on request. You can lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (uoou.gov.cz) or your local supervisory authority.

Terms of service

• The service is free. AI features have a credit limit per account; we may change the limit and the scope of features.
• Calculations are indicative. Heat loss, heating, lighting, Wi-Fi, quantities and bathroom zones do not replace a professional design, an inspection or an energy performance certificate. You are responsible for decisions based on them.
• No warranty. Bytopie is provided as is. We do our best to keep it running and your data safe, but outages and bugs can happen.
• Your content. Upload only drawings and photos you have the rights to, and no other people’s personal data. The content stays yours; you allow us to store and display it so the service works. A furniture piece published in the library may be used by other users in their projects.
• Abuse. Spam, automated flooding, circumventing limits or illegal content lead to restriction or blocking of the account and deletion of the content.
• Age. You need to be 15 to create an account; younger users only with a parent’s consent.
• Changes. We may update these terms and the policy; we will announce significant changes in the app. We may also discontinue the service — in that case we will give notice in advance and export your data on request.
• Law. Governed by the law of the Czech Republic.
